October 28, 2008 - Unexpected Snow
Three days
before Halloween and a week before Election Day, this was an unseasonably early and unexpected snowfall. The most striking thing
about it was the number of trees still with Fall foliage. This also became the most inconvenient aspect of the day. The heavy wet snow caused many
branches and whole trees to fall. Many roads were blocked and power lines were downed in many places. My journey home from work lasted nearly two hours.
So, never one to be bored, I took photos! (The last four pictures are of the aftermath the day after the storm, just a few of the dozens of trees that were
down on my route to work.)
