This is a poem that I wrote for her in February of 1988, nearly 13 full years ago. I gave it to her on lined notebook paper. She framed it just as it was.<\/p>\n<p>These roses grew in front of my house last summer.  I wish I could give one to my grandmother right now.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nFLOWERS FOR MY GRANDMOTHER <\/p>\n<p>I wanted to bring you a rose, so red<br \/>\n    Because I see beauty in you<br \/>\nI wanted to give you a daisy of joy<br \/>\n    For you helped to make my life happy<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to give you a violet, so bright<br \/>\n    To reflect the light of your eyes<br \/>\nOr maybe a lily of delicate grace<br \/>\n    Befitting a lady like you<\/p>\n<p>I offer thankfulness and love<br \/>\n    Which ever blossom within<br \/>\nMy heart as never ending beds of color<br \/>\n    And bouquets of deep appreciation.<\/p>\n<p>In loving memory of Anna Durnin, June 4, 1912 &#8211; January 9, 2001\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Originally posted on the website Continuum&#8230;) THIS ENTRY is a tribute to my grandmother who passed away yesterday morning.
