{"id":8606,"date":"2018-02-13T20:03:34","date_gmt":"2018-02-14T00:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bloggingsam.com\/?p=8606"},"modified":"2021-01-08T21:56:02","modified_gmt":"2021-01-09T02:56:02","slug":"international-space-station-flyover-feb-13-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bloggingsam.com\/?p=8606","title":{"rendered":"International Space Station Flyover &#8211; Feb. 13, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"rumble\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/embed\/v9y7x7\/?pub=7ub6v\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This morning I was organizing bookmarks in Internet Explorer, something I rarely do, in a browser I never use but for work these days, and I came across a <a href=\"https:\/\/spotthestation.nasa.gov\/sightings\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">link to ISS sighting opportunities<\/a>.  I had forgotten all about it.  As chance would have it, the Space Station was flying over my area in New Jersey just after sunset today!<\/p>\n<p>Also as chance would have it, the sky was clear at that time of the day.  I was able to go outside to view the flyover.  I made a video.<\/p>\n<p>It amazes me that there are people living up there 240 miles away from the Earth.<\/p>\n<p>It amazes me that it is moving so fast:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The ISS circles the Earth every 90 minutes. It travels at about 17,500 miles (28,000 km) per hour, which gives the crew 16 sunrises and sunsets every day.
