I found this speeding warning from a New Jersey State trooper tucked away in a book. It was written and presented to me exactly 14 years ago today, July 16, 2002.
I proudly accepted. All those years of watching Speed Racer as a kid were not lost on this guy! (Wait until you hear about all the trouble I got into thanks to Jonny Quest.)
We got a cat a month ago. She spent that month hiding from us for the most part. The only way we knew she was still alive was that her cat food would be consumed and a fresh present would be left for us in her litter box by morning each day. Also, she left of evidence of her sincere interest in horticulture one morning…
She has finally come out from under the couch in the last few days. She’s still very skittish, but she has allowed us to touch her finally. Here is video of the first time she allowed Christine to caress her. This is a keepsake we will one day watch with her when we are all old and seasoned in our attachment to one another.
“Hey, Francine, remember when you were too timid to come out from under the couch for a month?”
“Ah… you mean the four solid weeks I displayed my control over you by making you feed me and clean up my poop without giving you even the courtesy of acknowledging your existence?”
