Silhouettes

(Originally posted on the website Continuum…)

The sky was so perfectly clear yesterday that I decided to do some sunset and night photography. My son Tim and a few of his friends went with me to Point Mountain. We got there just after the sun went down behind the mountains. A few of the nightime photos taken with the 35mm came out kind of interesting. The others were over exposed. It was my first serious attempt at it. You win some. You lose some. I guess that’s one way to learn.

Below are a few photos taken with the digital camera.

“B” is for BARN

Let’s start the month off Sesame Street style.

“B” is for BARN.

Can you say “BARN?”

Very good, boys and girls!

Oh! There’s another “B” word! “BOYS!”

Now try this word: “BELVIDERE.”

Wow! That’s a big word!

We did it again! We said another “B” word! “BIG!”

Belvidere is where I found this Big Barn.

I suppose it’s good to put a Big “B” on your Barn so you don’t get confused and let your cows into the house.

Hmmm… I wonder if their cows have big “C’s” on them??

The Bug Was Biting

(Originally posted on the website Continuum…)

The photo bug was biting real hard today. As you can see in the pics below, it’s a beautiful sunny day here. There is not a cloud in the sky. In the morning, I took the long way to work, driving over the mountains through Califon and Oldwick. I stopped to take several photos with my 35mm along the way. By lunchtime, I couldn’t sit in my cube any longer. I drove through Oldwick, took some turns down roads I’d never been on before. I found myself on dirt roads that you wouldn’t think existed in this part of New Jersey. Here are the few photos that I took with the digital camera.

It’s always nice when I come across a way to use photos that I’ve taken in the past and have just been sitting around collecting dust. Above is the photo that I submitted to the World Taxxi Project. It was taken in January of 2003 on Route 78 East near Warren, New Jersey.
